No. 178 - SOLD

"Pink Shock"
4"x4"x1", oil on cradled hardboard
© 2012 Heather Hingst Bennett

Well, I bet you weren't expecting to see me around here so soon!!

Yes! I got a painting done today! I thought about it last night and knew I had to paint today. I saw this nail polish while running errands and knew it was going to be my model today! I just knew it! :)

As you can see in the pictures, I am using a 1″ cradled hardboard panel. It’s really nice and won’t even need to be framed. I think this is the way I’m going with my paintings in the future.

My husband keeps telling me I should sometimes sell the item that I paint along with my painting. What do you think of that? Want to buy an original painting with a bottle of nail polish?

Soft Beauty - SOLD

"Soft Beauty"
6"x6", oil and collage paper on hardboard

So, I thought I'd try something different today. I glued some scrapbook paper on hardboard, painted clear gesso over it and painted on top of it all. It was kind-of a nice twist on the usual still life. It was fun to come up with a way to incorporate the paper.

8″x6″ oil on canvas panel

I have A LOT of paintings to show you. I think from now on I’m going to post them when they are dry and ready to go in my Etsy shop, painted chic. I’m a horrible photographer and they look so much better when I use the scanner.

Notice anything different? I ran out of 6″x6″ canvas panels, so I’ve been trying some different sizes. Today’s painting is 8″(w) x 6″(h). It has kind of thrown me for a loop. I’ve been painting 6-inch square for quite some time, but I’m getting the hang of a few different sizes.

MARCH DAILY PAINTING CHALLENGE UPDATE

It is March 13 and I have 12 paintings completed. I’m behind by one painting!
