1 $ Wednesday

"Weadgies" ©2010
SOLD

It’s Wednesday and time for another 1 $ deal! On Wednesday’s during the summer I try to post an older painting that has been hanging around my house. This is painting number 34.

We just returned from our annual family vacation in Colorado. I had a great time seeing my brother and sister; nieces and nephews; and mom and dad. Can't wait for next year! Now it's time to unpack and get paintings ready to ship...Thank you!

All that rose practice the other day really helped when I went to paint this.

I thought I would stay with the "lime" theme for this weeks One Dollar Wednesday. See my original post here.

It might be fun to repaint these still life pieces and see what I come up with today.

Strawberries and Cream

No. 242, 6"x6", oil on Gessoboard
SOLD

I'm just finally learning to like strawberries.

This is the last of the instant milk paintings for a while. It turns into a nice yogurt-ish consistency when it sits out for a few days. :)

Mid-Century Milk

Photo of painting
No. 240, 6"x6", oil on gessoboard

Last fall I found this glass at the thrift store. I couldn't believe my luck! It's so mid-century modern and I am crazy about that stuff at the moment. I finally got the courage to paint it. I think I'll give it another try tomorrow.

PLEASE NOTE: I'm trying to get better at taking pictures of my paintings instead of scanning them. This way I can post them the day I paint them...which is really nice. What I was thinking is much fresher in my mind. I think the colors are mostly correct. We can compare in a few days when it dries and I can scan it in.

Here are some fun Mid-Century Modern links:

Enjoy!

My scanned image is MUCH, MUCH more representative of what this painting looks like! I'll have to keep experimenting with photographing my paintings.

One of my all time favorites. I painted this in 2010...must have been beginners luck!

The quilt is all done and I have a new painting to show you tomorrow. :)
